About The Client

Horse racing is a multi-billion dollar industry, and upholding a level playing field is crucial to guaranteeing fairness among competitors.

A newly established regulatory authority would be responsible for enforcing anti-doping measures within the industry. Envivo was engaged as subcontractors to assist in initiating the project and providing a solution to support the ongoing endeavour.

The Client’s Challenge

Starting From The Ground Up

This regulatory organisation required a complete solution to be developed from scratch. Several stakeholders were involved, including trackside personnel, internal operations departments, and external laboratories.

Without established processes or procedures, this startup organisation sought assistance in examining and analysing their internal operational workflows, as well as in designing a comprehensive end-to-end solution.

The Solution

From Inception to Software Delivery

Our engagement began at the earliest stages, where we visited the physical race track to observe the end-to-end process involving both personnel and horses. We were granted behind-the-scenes access to observe the sampling procedures and various interactions between ground staff and team members.

Close collaboration with the client allowed us to immerse ourselves in the domain and refine their concepts, in order to gather the essential knowledge required to design the system.

We facilitated onsite workshops, engaging with stakeholders across various operational sectors, including:

– Sample Collection Teams
– Legal Departments
– Investigators
– Knowledge Support Workers

Using an iterative approach of exploration, coding, and reviewing, we incorporated our findings into our client’s custom software framework. This methodology enabled us to deliver a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) within a compressed timeline to meet the launch date.
